Every January the World Economic Forum brings delegations, speakers, company teams and the press to Davos. Many of them land at Zurich, drive about 160 km into the mountains and then spend the week moving between the Congress Centre, meetings in the hotels and side events along the Promenade. The Forum sets its programme and its access rules again for each edition. What stays the same is the pressure on cars and chauffeurs. Vehicles for the Forum week are booked months ahead: send the dates as soon as you have them.

The airport run is the simple part: the chauffeur waits in the arrivals hall at Zurich with your name on a tablet, and the car takes you up the valley to the hotel. The days in Davos need a different shape, and for those the hourly service fits better than a string of single transfers.
By the hour, the car and the chauffeur stay with you between appointments, and the waiting is already in the price. Inside Davos the distances are short. What counts is that the car is outside when a session ends, even when it ends late, and that a change in the diary takes one message to the chauffeur.
From Zurich Airport up to Davos.
The road follows the A3 motorway along Lake Zurich and the Walensee to Landquart, then turns into the Prättigau valley and climbs through Klosters to Davos. About 160 km and about two and a quarter hours in normal traffic, with no border on the way. From Zurich city centre it is about 150 km and about two hours.
In the Forum week the valley road carries far more traffic than usual, and access around the Congress Centre follows the rules of that year's edition. The office plans pick-up points with the rules in force when the programme arrives.

All vehiclesThe First Class suits an executive and a colleague: a Mercedes S-Class, BMW 7 or Audi A8 or similar, with rear screens and tinted windows, for three passengers and three bags. The SUV takes five, adds all-wheel drive for a mountain town in January, and has room for a week of luggage. The Van First Class seats six, four of them facing each other around a table, which turns the drive between two appointments into a short meeting.
Delegations travel in several vehicles: the Van Standard seats seven, the Sprinter van twelve and the minibus fourteen, with larger groups split across more cars. On request there are also the Maybach S-Class, the Maybach GLS 600 and the Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II.

In arrivals at Zurich, at your door in Davos
At Zurich the chauffeur waits in the arrivals hall, after customs, with a tablet showing your name or your company's logo, and you receive the chauffeur's contact details before you land. In Davos the car is at your hotel at least fifteen minutes before each booked time.

Give the flight number when you book. The office follows the flight, moves the pick-up if you land early or late, and sends the chauffeur to the right arrival exit.

At airports, ports and train stations, drivers wait up to 60 minutes in case of delays beyond the scheduled arrival time, at no extra charge. How early should we book for Davos?
As early as the programme is known. Vehicles for the Forum week go months ahead, and the mountain road limits the fleet that can work there.
How does the hourly service work in Davos?
The minimum is two hours, with 20 km included for each hour; extra kilometres are charged and announced before. Stops are unlimited, the chauffeur waits at each one, and in the hourly service there is no waiting limit. Each extra half hour is added at the hourly rate of the class.
What if a meeting runs late or ends early?
If it runs late, the chauffeur waits and the service extends on the day at the same rate. The hours start at the booked pick-up time, and if you finish early, the booked hours are still charged.
How long is the drive from Zurich Airport to Davos?
About two and a quarter hours for about 160 km in normal traffic. In the Forum week, leave extra margin on the days you arrive and leave.
Can you move a whole delegation?
Yes, in several vehicles at once: up to 14 people in a minibus, 6 or 7 in a van. The office plans the vehicles for the whole week at a fixed price, a coordinator follows the movements on the day, and at the end there is one invoice, or one per company if several pay.
Can an assistant book and the company pay?
Yes. You can book for another person, and another person or a company can pay; authorised companies use periodic invoicing. A receipt is always issued, and an invoice when you ask for it in the billing step.
What if the programme changes during the week?
With an event plan, the coordinator is reachable throughout and moves vehicles as the programme moves. For single bookings, changes to date, time, address or class go through support, and changes to route, distance or class can change the price.
