Courchevel and Chamonix to Geneva Airport.
Private transfers between Geneva Airport and the French Alps: about two and a half hours to Courchevel and Les 3 Vallées, about an hour and a quarter to Chamonix, in both directions.
Across the border to the French Alps.
Geneva Airport sits a few minutes from the French border, which puts the ski resorts of Savoie and Haute-Savoie within a morning's drive. Courchevel is in the Tarentaise valley, part of Les 3 Vallées, about 145 kilometres from the airport. The drive takes about two and a half hours and ends at your chalet, whichever of the Courchevel villages it is in. Méribel and Val Thorens, in the same ski area, share the road as far as Moûtiers. Chamonix is closer: about 90 kilometres and an hour and a quarter by the Autoroute Blanche, to the foot of Mont Blanc. Courchevel and Chamonix have a summer season too, for hiking and mountain biking, and the transfer works the same way all year.
Ski bags go into the boot at the airport and come out at the chalet, with no shuttle bus to wait for and no train to change. Going home, the car collects you at the door at least fifteen minutes before the time you booked. One person can book the transfers for the whole chalet, and the payment can come from someone else or from a company. A dog on holiday with you travels in a closed carrier, declared in the notes; assistance animals need no carrier.
Two roads out of Geneva.
For Courchevel the car takes the A41 towards Annecy, follows Lake Annecy to Albertville, then the N90 up the Tarentaise valley to Moûtiers, where the last climb to Courchevel begins. On ski-season Saturdays, when many chalets change guests, the Tarentaise is slow in both directions: allow extra time for a flight that day.
For Chamonix the car takes the A40, the Autoroute Blanche, up the Arve valley, and the last kilometres on the N205 into the town. Both routes cross the border between Switzerland and France, so carry the documents required for your nationality.
