The road to Zermatt ends in Täsch.
Zermatt is closed to cars, so every transfer by road ends in Täsch, at the Matterhorn Terminal a few kilometres down the valley. From there the shuttle train runs up to the village, or an electric taxi takes you. Your chauffeur's job is everything before that point: the airport, the motorway, the mountain roads and the luggage.
The pick-up can be at Zurich, Geneva or Milan Malpensa. At each of them the chauffeur waits in the arrivals hall, after customs, with a tablet showing your name, and the table below compares the three drives. Geneva and Malpensa are the quickest by road; Zurich has the widest choice of flights into Switzerland and adds about three quarters of an hour.
By train the same journey takes at least one change, with ski bags and suitcases carried between platforms. By car the luggage goes into the boot at the airport and comes out in Täsch, and the hours in between are yours, to sleep after a night flight or to work in private.
Around Zermatt the airport run is only part of the work. The office books the return from Täsch with the outward trip, meets wedding guests and company teams flight by flight, and plans day trips with the car waiting in Täsch or transfers from the terminal to another resort.
Three airports, one valley to Täsch.
The three routes meet in the Rhone valley at Visp, where the road turns south into the Matter valley and climbs through St. Niklaus to Täsch. From Geneva the motorway follows Lake Geneva and then the Rhone valley past Sion, with no border and no pass on the way. From Milan Malpensa the road enters Switzerland at Gondo, crosses the Simplon Pass and comes down to Brig. From Zurich it runs past Bern into the Bernese Oberland and reaches the Valais on the Lötschberg car train.
In winter the Grimsel and Furka passes are closed and the Zurich route goes through the Lötschberg; in summer the chauffeur can take one of the passes instead. The Simplon is kept open all year, though heavy snow can close it for a while. On the day, the chauffeur picks the crossing with traffic and weather in view.

Out of season a couple travelling light can take First Class, a Mercedes S-Class, BMW 7 or Audi A8 or similar, for three passengers and three bags.
Families and groups go by van. The Van First Class (Mercedes V-Class or similar) seats six, four of them facing each other around a table, and the Standard van takes seven. For wedding guests or a company weekend, the 12-seat van and the 14-seat minibus keep the group together; larger groups travel on more than one vehicle.

What happens at the Matterhorn Terminal in Täsch?
The chauffeur stops in front of the terminal, unloads the luggage and helps you get it to the shuttle train. The ride up to Zermatt takes about 12 minutes. If you prefer, an electric taxi takes you from Täsch instead.
Which airport should we fly into for Zermatt?
The one with the better flight. By road Geneva and Milan Malpensa are both about three hours from Täsch, and Zurich about three hours and three quarters. From Malpensa the road crosses the Italian-Swiss border at Gondo, so keep the documents your nationality requires at hand.
Can you collect us in Täsch for the way back?
Yes. Ask for the return together with the outward trip in the quote. You come down on the shuttle train and the chauffeur waits at the terminal at the time you booked, then drives you to the airport or wherever the trip goes next.
Can you bring wedding or event guests to Zermatt?
Yes. Send the arrival times and the office matches vehicles to flights, so each guest is met in the arrivals hall. Up to 14 people travel together in the minibus; larger groups are split across vehicles.
Can we spend a day in Zermatt and come back the same evening?
Yes, as a day tour. The chauffeur drives you to Täsch, you take the shuttle train up, and the car waits in Täsch for the way back. The price for the day is agreed before departure.
Can you drive us from Täsch to another resort or city?
Yes. A transfer can start at the Matterhorn Terminal as easily as it ends there, for St. Moritz, Verbier, Milan or Geneva. The price is fixed before you pay, like any other route.
