Tremezzo is one of the four villages of the Tremezzina, with Lenno, Mezzegra and Ossuccio, on the western shore of Lake Como opposite Bellagio. Its lakefront holds the Grand Hotel Tremezzo and the gardens of Villa Carlotta; a few minutes south, Villa del Balbianello and Villa Balbiano host weddings. Behind the shore, houses and villas climb the hill on narrow private lanes.

Malpensa is about 80 kilometres away: between an hour and a quarter and an hour and three quarters by car, depending on the lake road. By public transport the same trip is a bus or a ferry to Como, a train to Saronno and a change for the airport, three and a half to four hours with the bags in your hands. With a chauffeur the only time to fix is the pick-up, and the office, which answers around the clock, can help you work it out from your flight time.

The car collects you at the hotel entrance or the villa gate, wherever you enter in the booking, and the chauffeur loads the luggage and drives the lake road for you. Arriving, you are met in the Malpensa arrivals hall and driven to the Tremezzina without looking up a timetable, whatever time the flight lands. If a guest or a client is travelling, you can book in their name and set the name the chauffeur shows on the arrivals sign.

Past Argegno and Cernobbio to the motorway.

From Tremezzo the car follows the SS340 Regina south through Lenno and Ossuccio, with Isola Comacina, the only island on the lake, just offshore. The road is at its narrowest around Sala Comacina and Argegno, then runs on past Laglio and Moltrasio to Cernobbio and Como.

The lake road is the part that varies. It is busiest from June to September, and local festivals or cycling races sometimes close stretches of it. After Como the motorway towards Busto Arsizio and Gallarate is quicker and more predictable, though commuter traffic around Milan adds time before a morning flight. There is no border between the lake and the airport.

Two people with two suitcases fit the Economy class (Skoda Octavia, Toyota Prius or similar). Standard Class adds a seat and a bag, and First Class carries the same three passengers with rear screens and tinted windows. Families with a week's luggage do better in the SUV, five passengers and five bags, or in the Van First Class, six and six, with four seats facing each other around a table.

Weddings bring groups. The 12-seat van and the 14-seat minibus take a party from Malpensa to the hotel together, and groups larger than that travel on two vehicles. A smaller party can ask for the Mercedes-Maybach V-Class, which seats four with four bags.

How long does the drive from Tremezzo to Malpensa take?

Between an hour and a quarter and an hour and three quarters for about 80 kilometres. The difference comes from the lake road in summer and from rush hour around Milan.

What time should I leave Tremezzo for my flight?

For an international flight, about four hours before departure, a little earlier in July and August. That covers the lake road, the motorway and check-in.

Do you also pick up in Lenno, Mezzegra and Ossuccio?

Yes. They are part of the Tremezzina, on the same stretch of the Regina, so the drive to Malpensa is about the same. Enter the exact address in the booking, including villas up on the hill.

Is the drive different in winter?

A little: the lake road is quieter and snow is rare on the shore. Fog on the plain around Malpensa is more common from late autumn and can slow the motorway, so keep a margin.

Can my company pay and receive an invoice?

Yes. Another person or a company can pay, and you ask for the invoice in the billing step; a receipt is always issued. Authorised companies can use periodic invoicing.

What if my plans change?

You can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before the pick-up; closer than that, contact support. Changes to date, time, address or class also go through support, and a change of route or class can change the price.

Yes, seats and boosters are free. You add them in the second step of the booking; put the child's age and weight in the notes so the right one comes with the car.
